Dust Devil

A body is sucking the air into her lungs until the lungs can not expand any more. Then the air whistles out sometimes as a storm comes down over the mountains, sometimes as a puffing that the childrens play with eachother.  Suddenly three performers turn into three crazy-unexpected-magical dust machines and they fill the theater with dust clouds.

Dust Devil is a type of a light whirling wind, a natural phenomenon which in some cultures is also associated with the spirits of the dead.  Alkis explores it as a motif for a dance work in which movement and sound merge to one another. In this abstract visual and aural landscape, picture and sound and silence and movement emerges through the dancers bodies in diverse intensities.
